Hi beautiful, let me tell you a little about me.
Growing up in Brooklyn made me the woman I am today. Being surrounded by the hustle and bustle, the culture, the fashion & being so connected to my Puerto Rican roots makes me, me. Moving to Rochester to pursue a college degree at Nazareth College was a huge culture shock. The streets were quieter and darker, the people were a lot nicer & I needed a car to get everywhere.
Since moving here at 18, I struggled to fit in and find my passion in every class and at every job. But one thing always made me feel like me – makeup. Makeup was my escape and happy place and made me feel empowered.
As a kid, my mom always got her nails & hair done and did her makeup everyday. She expressed the importance of looking good to feel good & that stuck with me. During my teenage years I struggled with horrible acne and wanted nothing more than to feel as beautiful as my mom.
I started with eyeliner & mascara then lipstick & gloss and eventually eyeshadow. Makeup allowed me to feel beautiful and gave me so much confidence despite having acne. When I was in college, I was that girl who wore full glam to her 8am classes and the girl who did everyone’s makeup when we went out at night. I didn’t get into bridal until my best friend got engaged and asked me to do her wedding makeup. It was then that I found my true calling.
